Make a page for Imperial shock trooper?[]

We now know that shock troopers appear in Star Wars Battlefront and have similar markings to Coruscant Guards, only the armor has changed to stormtrooper armor. They also appears in Star Wars: Commander, however, they wear Phase II clone armor even though the game is set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, so I think that was the reason why the info from Commander was added to this page, instead of creating a new page for "Imperial" shock troopers. After the battlefront footage of shock troops with stormtrooper armor was uploaded on youtube I wondered if we make a page for "Imperial shock trooper/Canon" separately or move this page to "Shock trooper/Canon" and contain both information of shock troops during the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War. • Good catch, but, since Battlefront hasn't been released yet I would hold off on making any moves. We don't know "officially" in what capacity the shock troopers appear, be they separate from the Clone Wars-era Coruscant Guard or the Coruscant Guard shock troopers are sent to the front lines to keep up their skills, or are they even still called shock troopers under the Empire. Also, while Star Wars: Commander has canon characters and elements, not everything from the game can be used as definitive canon.     • We've had an open beta now, game is out in about 5 weeks. The troops are mentioned as "Imperial shock troops" or "Imperial shock troopers" often by Admiral Ackbar in Survival. I think it's safe to make a separate page now. What do you all think? Reddyredcp (talk) 01:43, October 11, 2015 (UTC)

Rewrite[]

I think this page needs to be rewritten to remove the parts that apply to clone shock troopers. I think a distinction needs to be made with the clone shock troopers that continued to serve in the Galactic Empire and their armor, and Imperial shock troopers that have stormtrooper armor.--Vitus Infinitus^Talk 15:57, January 24, 2020 (UTC)

Merge[]

Ignore the weirdo above me :P, per the latest databank entry ( Imperial clone Shock Troopers in the Databank (backup link)) it would be more appropriate to merge the information of this article to Clone shock trooper as that is the most substantial and oldest article, and then move Clone shock trooper to this article's current title as that is the most recent name. Per the information, clone shock troopers became Imperial clone shock troopers. Imperial shock troopers are equipped with either Phase II clone armor or specialized stormtrooper armor. They are very much so one and the same. Essentially, it is an identical situation to how the Emperor's Royal Guard incorporates the "Red Guard." --Vitus Infinitus^Talk 01:42, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

• The idea beforehand anyway was that at the point of the Empire's founding, the clone shock troopers became the Imperial shock troopers, so merging them probably should have been done well before anyway, so I agree Lewisr (talk) 01:54, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
