Iron[]
in chapter 1 of The Mandalorian, the bearded guy asks if the armor is real Beskar steel. in Legends (in Karen Traviss' books) it's Beskar iron. right now the Canon entry is also calling it iron but shouldn't the Canon page also refer to it as steel? - The Client calls it "steel" in Chapter 3 so yes it should be added to the page. UberSoldat93 17:46, December 4, 2019 (UTC)
- In canon it's called Mandalorian iron and Beskar steel. I think Mandalorian iron is just a slang or nickname given to the Bestar steel. If they said Beskar iron it would be a contradiction imo.--Vitus InfinitusTalk 20:27, December 4, 2019 (UTC)
Merge with the "Mandalorian iron"[]
It should be merged with the Mandalorian iron article —Unsigned comment by 95.160.156.104 (talk • contribs).
- That articles covers the Legends version of the topic, while this one covers the Canon version. UberSoldat93 (talk) 17:40, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
The Rise of Skywalker[]
When does beskar appear in TROS as it says in the appearances section? --Potsk (talk) 21:47, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

Not an alloy[]
This page describes beskar as an alloy, citing Star Wars Rebels: Heroes of Mandalore as its source. However, as far as I can tell, this source only establishes that Mandalorian armour is made out of a beskar alloy, and not that beskar itself is an alloy.
Furthermore, the article makes several references to the "purity" of beskar, noting for instance that "Beskar in its pure form was..." This is a discrepancy, as an alloy is by definition a mixture of elements and thus can not have a pure form.
However, if beskar was a natural metal and beskar items were made out of a beskar alloy, purity would indicate a higher presence of beskar (and a smaller quantity of impurities) in the metal; this seems to be the intended meaning of most sources, and makes a lot more sense.
It is also worth noting that if beskar is an alloy, it makes less sense for it to only be found on Mandalore and Concordia, unless a crucial material used in its creation only forms in those areas. While this is possible, one would expect this rare, raw material to have been mentioned in canon as well. The implication is that beskar is itself this raw material, as opposed to being an alloy.
