Hayden Christensen[]

so has he been confirmed? i can understand why you don't want to have leaked information on your website but there must be an official source if it's on your twitter right? either you're lying to your fans for twitter clout revealig information that that disney clearly wanted to be a secret or people on the website hate this man so much their denying the idea that he could possibly get back into acting twitter.com/WookOfficial/status/1451711719911395336Unsigned comment by 172.99.190.183 (talk • contribs).

  • Ultimately, it's a rumor that has not been confirmed by an official source, such as Lucasfilm, so the bottom line is that the relevant information should not be added to the wiki. OOM 224 11:13, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

Hollywood Reporter[]

So regarding the Hayden Christensen topic, it has been revealed by the Hollywood Reporter and going on, many other sites have used that information to confirm Hayden Christensen for Ahsoka. I honestly to not see why this wiki is so hesitant with that information, the pace at which something here should be confirmed leads to sites being untouched until they come out which is compared to other sites(who also sometimes rely on informationen from Websites(MCU;DCEU)) really, really slow.

I cna understand not having unconfirmed information, but in this case, it has been confirmed basically, because why should sites like Murphy's Multiverse or The Direct use that information if that is not confirmed? It is not like leakers who claim something without evidence but this is from a site which has confirmed couple of casting and film rumors before.

I would take this as confirmed source.

  • The Hollywood reporter is not an official source. It's reporting is generally accurate, but it still counts as a leak because an official source has not announced it. 17:03, 24 October 2021 (UTC) Unsigned comment by VergenceScatter (talk • contribs).

So what are official sources? Only Lucasfilm? If that is true, then the pages for films series etc will be blank for very long as Lucasfilm usually does not confirm anything before a series debuts. As for example the MCU or DCEU, they also rely on sources like Hollywood Reporter or Murphy's Multiverse and I honestly see not the big hurdle here. These sites update more frequently than here because they also rely on information which does not immediately come form Disney but they also work with it. Again I do not see the big problem here with HR, but I respect the decision, although I would still remark that the pages will stay blankly for a very long time if the only official source is ought to be Lucasfilm.

  • General information is different from leaks. Since this is an announcement about upcoming material that has not been confirmed by Lucasfilm, it counts as a leak, and therefore cannot be added to an article. On the other hand, an interview published by HR, for example, would be okay to use in articles, provided it was not being used to reference leaks. VergenceScatter (talk) 17:19, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

So if like HR does an interview with someone form the crew and they like let it slip, that would be counted as official even if they later deny it? Or one of the actors more or less confirms these rumors, that'd be official, right?

  • It doesn't really matter if a rumour is true if the information involved is a leak, and leaks should not be documented on the wiki. OOM 224 17:31, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

Timothy Zahn consulting[]

I noticed while reading this page that it says "Zahn himself said he had "spoken a couple of times" about Thrawn as well as Jogwad". I listened to the source and did not hear anything about a 'Jogwad'. There is no link to a page relating to this, and through doing a google search the only thing I could find was a discussion about Star Wars: Racer that involved the removal of that name from the page. Is this something that should be removed, or is there actually a source somewhere where Timothy Zahn mentioned the name?

Looking into the logs, it appears that the phrase 'as well as Jogwad' was added by user 82.132.234.82 on September 5th, and that appears to be the only edit made by that user.Unsigned comment by The yodanesss (talk • contribs).

  • Thanks for catching that. Seems like another anynomous editor removed that since you reported it. NanoLuukeCloning Facility 16:36, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
