Taika David Waititi (born August 16, 1975[1]) is a New Zealand film director, screenwriter, and actor best known for the 2014 film What We Do in the Shadows and the 2017 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Thor: Ragnarok. He directed an episode of the live-action Star Wars television series The Mandalorian, created by fellow Marvel director Jon Favreau.[3] He will also direct and co-write with Krysty Wilson-Cairns an as-yet-untitled Star Wars film.[4]
