A spice den on Level 3321 of the planet Coruscant was operated by the spice dealer Tach Drud during the reign of the Galactic Republic. After the Coruscant Security Force was led to the den by a spice-addled holo-star, it set up an undercover probe in the den that captured a hologram of four patrons.

This image and notes from Coruscant Security Force Inspector Tanivos Divo were included in Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious, a book published by the inspector's grandson, Exantor Divo, in 34 ABY.

The spice dealer Tach Drud operated a spice den out of a curio shop on Level 3321 of Galactic City, the ecumenopolis that covered the planet Coruscant. The den included a booth for clients with a low central table surrounded on three sides by benches that ran along the walls of the booth. The sides of the booth were varying shades of gray, as were the table and benches. The open side of the booth had a grill in the floor running the length of the opening and one of the sides had a circular window with a grill over it.^[1]

History[]

The den was operational during the reign of the Galactic Republic. The Coruscant Security Force learned of its existence after it captured and interrogated a spice-addled holo-star who led it to the den in exchange for their name being kept out of the headlines. The law enforcement agency then set up an undercover probe inside the den, and in 7942 C.R.C. it captured a surveillance hologram of four clients in a spiced-out stupor within a booth in the den, their paraphernalia on the table. The group consisted of two Pykes, a human, and an alien, with one of the four earning a high salary as a senatorial lobbyist and another working as a cargo hauler and living in conditions just above squalor.^[1]

Coruscant Security Force Inspector Tanivos Divo included the surveillance hologram in his case files and wrote a note on the patrons, commenting on how the spice acted as an equalizer between those of disparate wealth. Divo's grandson, Exantor Divo, published the hologram of the den and his grandfather's notes on it in his book, Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious,^[1] which was published in 34 ABY.^[2]

Tach Drud's spice den was mentioned in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo and included an illustration of the den^[1] by Brian Fajardo as part of Gunship Revolution.^[3]
