The TIE scout,[2] also known as a scout-class TIE,[4] was a starfighter variant of the TIE family of Imperial warships that was equipped with a hyperdrive and was used for reconnaissance missions.[2] As with all space crafts of the Imperial Era-TIE line,[1] the scout ship[2] was manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems.[1]

One functional TIE scout was present within the wreckage of the second Death Star on Kef Bir by the time of the Resistance's mission to Kef Bir,[4] which took place long after the Death Star's destruction over Endor.[5] It was used by the stranded Ben Solo to depart from the ocean moon and travel to[4] the distant Sith world of Exegol[5] in 35 ABY.[6] There, the Jedi evaded[4] the planet's chaotic atmosphere[5] as he landed the space craft before the Sith Citadel with success, and made for the Sith Lord Darth Sidious on foot for a final confrontation.[4]
