Sluis Van was an astronomical object in the southern region of the galaxy's[3] Outer Rim Territories[1] and Western Reaches,[2] along the Rimma Trade Route, in square M-19 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] It provided ships to Seswenna's Outland Regions Security Force prior to the Clone Wars.
History[]
In 229 BBY[4], Sluis Van was engulfed by the expanded Stormwall and lost contact with the Galactic Republic.[5]
Count Dooku later turned both Sluis Van and Yag'Dhul over to the side of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
Sluis Van was first canonically mentioned in the 2014 novel Tarkin, written by James Luceno.[3] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the planet Sluis Van first appeared in Timothy Zahn's 1991 novel Heir to the Empire, the first book in The Thrawn Trilogy.[6] Zahn named it after his friend Don Vandersluis.[7]
