Shawda club sandwiches were a type of sandwich which could be served on toasted or therm-zapped bread. Shortly before the outbreak of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems,[2] the sandwich was served in Dex's Diner,[3] an eatery on the planet Coruscant. The diner served the sandwich for 6.7 credits and described it as delicious on the menu.[2]

Shawda club sandwiches were created by Gregory Walker for "Dining at Dex's," a Star Wars Legends article published on the Hyperspace section of StarWars.com in 2009. The article spelled the sandwich's name "Shawda Clubb sandwich,"[5] a pun referencing the Legends Shawda Ubb species and real-world club sandwiches.[6]
The sandwich was made canon in 2015, when it appeared as new content in a reissue of What is a Wookiee?, a reference book previously released in 2005. The book identified a sandwich that had appeared in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones as Shawda club sandwich.[2]
