The RDC research compound was a research building located on[1] the Core Worlds[2] planet Coruscant, and was a short flight from the Senate building.[1] In 228 BBY,[3] the scientist Avon Sunvale began working with the Republic Defense Coalition and took over a lab within the compound as carried out work on crystals.[1] Later that year,[3] Jedi Master Elzar Mann visited Sunvale in her lab to ask the girl to speak with her mother, the Nihil Minister of Information Ghirra Starros, for the location of Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro, who the Jedi Order had begun a search for. Sunvale agreed to ask her mother, and Starros did provide the Jedi with several locations that Ro had recently visited.[1]

  3. 3.0 3.1 Per the reasoning here, the events of The High Republic: Defy the Storm and The High Republic: Temptation of the Force, which take place at least one year and two weeks and one year and a few months after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, respectively, must take place in 228 BBY. As Temptation of the Force establishes that Avon Sunvale began working for the Republic Defense Coalition between the two novels, she must have done so that year.
