Plankton were first mentioned in Star Wars (2015) 47, the third comic the Mutiny at Mon Cala arc. The comic was released in 2018 and was written by Kieron Gillen.^[1] In Star Wars Legends plankton was first mentioned in the West End Games sourcebook, Planets of the Galaxy, Volume One.^[2]
