"Careful, it might be full of clones."
"Uh, no clones. Just explosives."
"Explosives?"
―OM-7 and OM-5, while investigating a gunship moments before their destruction[2]

OM-7 was a B1-series battle droid who served within the Confederacy of Independent Systems' droid army during the Clone Wars. In 22 BBY, OM-7 participated in the Confederacy's invasion of the planet Ryloth, where he engaged a small Galactic Republic garrison led by Jedi General Ima-Gun Di and a resistance force of the native Twi'leks commanded by General Cham Syndulla.

During the invasion, OM-7 and fellow B1 battle droid OM-5 were ordered by an OOM command battle droid to investigate a Republic Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry gunship that was blocking their attack on the garrison. The gunship had been rigged to explode, and while approaching it the two battle droids were destroyed following the ship's detonation by a clone trooper, forcing the droid army to take a different path.

Droid-Sent-Gunship

OM-7 and OM-5 are sent to investigate a Republic gunship.

OM-7 was a B1-series battle droid who served within the droid army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars against the Galactic Republic.[2] In 22 BBY,[1] the Separatist Droid Army coordinated an invasion of the planet Ryloth, in which the battle droid took part. While attempting to claim the planet, the Confederacy was opposed by a native Twi'lek resistance force led by General Cham Syndulla that was supported by[2] a small[4] garrison of Republic clone troopers commanded by Jedi General Ima-Gun Di. However, OM-7 and their fellow battle droids were able to force General Di's garrison to withdraw into Ryloth's mountains and devise a plan while the droid army continued their advancement on the surviving Republic clone troopers.[2]

As the battle droids approached, the Republic garrison—which had been depleted of much of their resources—loaded their remaining Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry gunship with explosives and positioned it along a nearby mountain pass in an effort to redirect the Separatist forces. An OOM command battle droid noticed the gunship preventing their movements and ordered OM-7 and fellow B1 battle droid OM-5 to investigate it. While investigating, however, the two droids realized the gunship was loaded with several explosives, surprising one of the droids as a clone trooper detonated the vessel. Both OM-7 and OM-5 were destroyed in the explosion, and a nearby mountainous pillar collapsed and blocked the path. The droid army was forced to redirect through a ravine, allowing for the Twi'leks to escape from the Separatists before their arrival.[2]

Characteristics[]

A B1-series battle droid of the Separatist Droid Army, OM-7[2] stood 1.93 meters tall, and weighed sixty-five kilograms.[3] They also had bone-white plating with a pair of black sensors.[2]

Equipment[]

As standard with B1-series battle droids in the Separatist Army, OM-7 was armed with an E-5 blaster rifle. The battle droid was also equipped with a back-mounted comlink booster pack[2] and communicated through a simple vocabulator.[5]

Behind the scenes[]

OM-7 appeared in "Supply Lines,"[2] the third episode of the third season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, which aired on September 24, 2010. In the episode, OM-5 was voiced by Matthew Wood, who also voiced all other B1-series battle droids in the series.[6]
