Neon bats were a type of bat that could produce light that were found on the moon of the planet Arli in the Outer Rim. Jordanna and Harth Sparkburn, members of the San Tekka family who grew up on Arli's moon, would travel between their home and the nearby city of Birage at twilight in the light of the neon bats. When the former returned to Arli's moon[1] in 229 BBY,[2] she recalled memories from her childhood, including neon bats lighting their way at twilight.[1]

Neon bats were mentioned in the 2024 novel The High Republic: Defy the Storm, written by Justina Ireland and Tessa Gratton[1] as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase III.[3]
