Moobian torsion valve^[1] were a type of cylindrical brown valve with a silver cap.^[2] A device with three moobian torsion valves attached to its sides was sat on the counter of the junk dealer Watto's junkshop in the city of Mos Espa on the planet Tatooine when the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and several of his allies visited the shop in search of a T-14 hyperdrive generator^[1] in 32 BBY.^[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Moobian torsion valves appeared in the 1999 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.^[2] In the current Star Wars canon, the valves were first identified in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations in a section reprinted^[1] from the 2000 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I, which was written by Kristin Lund, illustrated by Richard Chasemore and Hans Jenssen, and marked the first identification of the device in the Star Wars Legends continuity.^[4]
