"I swear on my name and the names of the ancestors... That I shall walk the Way of the Mand'alor... And the words of the Creed shall be forever forged in my heart. This is the Way."
―The Armorer and Ragnar recite the words of the Creed[1]

Ragnar's initiation ritual

A Mandalorian initiation ritual[2] was a ceremony of the Mandalorian Creed, in which a Mandalorian recited the words of the Creed while being in water. Followers of the Way of the Mandalore also swore to never remove their helmets. The ritual, if held within the Living Waters in the Mines of Mandalore, was also used to redeem apostates who removed their helmets and were exiled from the Children of the Watch.[1]

When princess Bo-Katan Kryze was a child, she performed the ritual in the Living Waters in front of her father and the subjects of the Mandalorian royal family. She was showered with gifts and made her father proud. Kryze considered the ritual as just theater for their subjects and part of stories for children. She also believed there was nothing magic about the waters.[3]

Ragnar creed

Ragnar participates in the formal initiation ritual, held in the Living Waters of Mandalore

During the time of the New Republic, the Children of the Watch performed the ritual in water near a Mandalorian covert to initiate Ragnar to their tribe. However, the ritual was interrupted when a Dinosaur turtle attacked.[1] Shortly after, Din Djarin performed the ritual in the Living Waters beneath the Mines of Mandalore to redeem himself after he had removed his helmet.[3] Bo-Katan Kryze, who bathed in the Waters when she rescued Djarin after he had sunk in the Waters, was also considered redeemed, although she had not recited the words of the Creed.[4]
