"Mandalore must remain a neutral system!"
―Duchess Satine Kryze[9]

The Mandalore system,[1] also known as the Mandalorian system,[10] was a star system located in the Mandalore sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories that contained the planet Mandalore,[1] homeworld of the Mandalorian people, its moon of Concordia,[4] and the planet Kalevala.[5] Although nominally a member of the Galactic Republic, the Mandalore system declared itself neutral during the Clone Wars[9] and was a member of the Council of Neutral Systems led by Satine Kryze, duchess of the New Mandalorians,[4] though the system itself was led by Prime Minister Almec.[11]

Behind the scenes[]

The Mandalore system first appeared in the new Star Wars canon in "The Mandalore Plot," the twelfth episode of the canon animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' second season,[4] which originally aired on January 29, 2010.[12] It was first mentioned in the Star Wars Legends reference book The Empire Strikes Back Sketchbook, written by Joe Johnston and Nilo Rodis-Jamero and released in June, 1980.[13]
