The Mandalore system,^[1] also known as the Mandalorian system,^[10] was a star system located in the Mandalore sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories that contained the planet Mandalore,^[1] homeworld of the Mandalorian people, its moon of Concordia,^[4] and the planet Kalevala.^[5] Although nominally a member of the Galactic Republic, the Mandalore system declared itself neutral during the Clone Wars^[9] and was a member of the Council of Neutral Systems led by Satine Kryze, duchess of the New Mandalorians,^[4] though the system itself was led by Prime Minister Almec.^[11]

Behind the scenes[]

The Mandalore system first appeared in the new Star Wars canon in "The Mandalore Plot," the twelfth episode of the canon animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' second season,^[4] which originally aired on January 29, 2010.^[12] It was first mentioned in the Star Wars Legends reference book The Empire Strikes Back Sketchbook, written by Joe Johnston and Nilo Rodis-Jamero and released in June, 1980.^[13]
