M5-R3 was an R-series astromech droid[2] manufactured by Industrial Automaton.[1] It had red, black and white paneling and an R5 dome with a black sensor.[3] In 34 ABY[4] during the occupation of the planet Batuu by the First Order, M5-R3 was present in Black Spire Outpost. The droid spent time waiting for an oil bath in the Service Yard droid repair station of the outpost's Droid Depot while the astromech droid[3] S2-M8 used the bath.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
M5-R3 appeared as a prop within the themed land Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge,[3] which opened to guests at Disneyland Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2019.[5]
