The M-300 hunting blaster, nicknamed the "Hunting Blaster," was a long-range stun rifle manufactured by BlasTech Industries to survive the rigors of the outdoors. Popular with hunters, it had unparalleled range and accuracy for its class, and due to trade-secret technologies it provided an intense and coherent blaster beam that could stun even the toughest creatures.

Description[]

The M-300 hunting blaster was a rugged blaster rifle designed to meet the needs of those that made their living in the wilderness, including serious hunters.[1] A lightweight yet cumbersome stun rifle,[2] the rugged weapon was built to withstand the rigors of backcountry life. Its reinforced frame[1] was small and wrapped in weather-proofed polycarbonate that made it nearly indestructible,[2] allowing it to sustain heavy impacts and hazardous environments, including extremes of heat or cold, with little effect on its performance.[1]

The M-300 had unparalleled accuracy and range for its class[1] and unparalleled range for a stun rifle[2] due to a specially designed precision barrel.[1] As standard, it also came equipped with an integrated,[2] non-removable telescopic optical sight[1] that used target assist and predictive trajectory software.[2] This and the rifle's sling enhanced the weapon's ease of use and performance. The galven circuitry and[1] tamper-proof[2] gas XCiter used in the M-300 created a blaster beam that was more intense and coherent[1] than anything else in its class.[2] This meant that the weapon had enough power to[1] stun[2] even the toughest creatures. A heavy weapon, the rifle weighed four kilograms.[1]

History[]

Nicknamed the "Hunting Blaster," the M-300 hunting blaster was manufactured by BlasTech Industries and was one of the company's most popular civilian blaster rifles,[1] being a favorite of professional hunters and also finding a niche among law enforcement snipers. The Galven and XCiter technology used in the weapon were trade secrets, and as the XCiter was tamper-proof and the scope almost impossible to remove, the weapon was one of BlasTech's least modifiable rifles.[2] It sold for 1600 credits during the Galactic Civil War but was hard to find.[1]

In the current Star Wars canon, the M-300 hunting blaster was first mentioned in Savage Spirits, a 2016 Star Wars Roleplaying supplement written by Tim Huckelberry and published by Fantasy Flight Games for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the weapon was introduced in "Blaster Weapons of the Rebel Alliance," an ambiguously canon article written by James B. King and published in issue forty of Challenge magazine in 1989.[3]
