Lefrani was a gas giant planet located in the Atravis sector of the Outer Rim Territories'[1] Western Reaches portion,[2] in the Mustafar system,[1] at grid square L-19[4] of the Standard Galactic Grid.[5] In close orbit of the small world of Mustafar, Lefrani was in a constant state of tug-of-war with a neighboring gas giant, Jestefad, both in an attempt to make Mustafar into their moon with their gravitational pull. As a result, Mustafar was effectively transformed into an unstable world of magma and rock.[1]
Several millennia ago, Lefrani and Jestefad were pulled out of their orbit of the star Priate during a cataclysmic struggle between the Jedi and Sith. As a result, both gas giants were pulled close to the smaller world of Mustafar, suspending the planet on an erratic path between their gravitational pulls.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
Lefrani first appeared in the prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith,[6] which was released on May 19, 2005.[7] The planet was first identified in new Star Wars canon in the seventeeth issue of the Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine,[3] published around April 29, 2015.[8] Lefrani was first identified in the Star Wars Legends in Star Wars: Complete Locations, a reference book published by Dorling Kindersley[9] on October 17, 2005.[10]
