Kinyen was an agriworld^[3] located in the galaxy's Expansion Region,^[1] on a junction with the Corellian Trade Spine and the Great Gran Run.^[2] It was the original homeworld of the Gran species.^[5] Malastare , which was colonized by Gran hundreds of years before the Imperial Era,^[8] was also considered a homeworld of the Gran.^[5]

Kinyen was the homeworld of the Gran senators Philo and Kharrus, who represented Kinyen in the Galactic Republic Senate during the Clone Wars.^[5]

Description[]

The planet was notable for its many peaceful farming settlements, such as the Kemalo Farming Cluster.^[3] Their bountiful produce was sold and distributed to many parts of the galaxy, including Batuu.^[6]
