"Within hours, similar reports were coming in from Sencil Corp on Churba, Reiber Manufacturing on Jeyell, and SGI Systems, Inc. on Druckenwell."
―A news report by the Basic Edition of Nal Hutta Kal'tamok[3]

Jeyell was a Mid Rim planet located in the Roche sector, on the Perlemian Trade Route hyperlane. It housed the headquarters of Reiber Manufacturing, a company that manufactured assassin droid components until it was nationalized by the Galactic Empire on 36:4:20.

Description[]

Jeyell was a terrestrial[3] planet[4] located in the Jeyell system, a part of the Mid Rim's Roche sector.[1] It was situated on the super-hyperroute known as the Perlemian Trade Route, which connected it to the Carbos and Roche systems, as well as[2] the Taldot sector's[5] Rearqu Cluster, and served as a dividing line between the regions known as the Trans-Hydian and the Slice.[2]

History[]

"In one fell swoop, the Empire has apparently seized the assets of the major manufacturers of black market assassin droid matrixes and mission-specific components in the entire Mid-Rim region."
―A news report by the Basic Edition of Nal Hutta Kal'tamok[3]

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, Jeyell housed the headquarters of Reiber Manufacturing, a major manufacturer of black market assassin droid components. On the date 36:4:20, Imperial military forces announced the nationalization of the megacorporation Bansche Tech on the[3] world[6] Chamble, with a company of Imperial troopers establishing a garrison in the factories situated near the company's corporate offices there. Within hours of the takeover, similar reports came in about Reiber Manufacturing on Jeyell as well as other Mid Rim companies involved in the underground assassin droid market. On the following day, the incident was reported on by an issue of the Basic Edition of the Nal Hutta Kal'tamok NewsNet.[3] The nationalized companies were subsequently reorganized by the Empire into the Imperial Droid Corporation.[7]

Behind the scenes[]

Jeyell was first mentioned in the "Galaxywide NewsNets" segment of the May 1995 sixth issue of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journal. The segment was authored by Paul Sudlow.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Jeyell system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square Q-8.[2]
