The Imperial Marines was a military branch within the Armed Forces of the Galactic Empire.[1] The marines were present during the Battle of Jakku, which was a last stand between the Galactic Empire and the New Republic.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The Imperial Marines were first mentioned in the canon[3] Dawn of Rebellion sourcebook. In the section about the branches and personnel about the Imperial Military, the sourcebook mentions that the Imperial Army and Imperial Navy had various subbranches, including the Army's Imperial Armor Corps and Army Engineering Corps, and the Navy's Naval Intelligence Agency. The Imperial Marines are subsequently mentioned, but which branch of the military it was a part of was not made clear.[1]
