Gonkatine was a red GNK-series power droid that resided in the Unknown Regions planet of Exegol. He attempted to join the Knights of Ren; however, they were not allowed to join. After being denied his place in the Knights of Ren, Gonkatine attempted to create his own band of "mischiefs," the Knights of Gonk, which consisted of Gigagonk, Invisigonk and Mad Dog Gonkdo. The Knights of Gonk planned their first strike, destroying every remnant of the Battle of Exegol at the Sith Citadel. However, after planning their strike, they realized it was not really a bad and mischievous action, but instead a good one.

Biography[]

Gonkatine was a GNK-series power droid, which, after the Battle of Exegol^[2] of 35 ABY,^[4] resided in a cave on the Unknown Regions Sith planet of Exegol. He was denied entry to the Knights of Ren group, prompting Gonkatine to create their own group: the Knights of Gonk, which would consist of the most mischievous gonk power droids of the galaxy.^[2]

Gonkatine tasked a minion of his to bring three of gonks to his dwelling, and the minion recruited Gigagonk, Invisigonk, and Mad Dog Gonkdo, from the planets of Tatooine, Cantonica, and Jakku respectively. As the minion brought the three to Exegol, Gonkatine worked on a speech of disappointment they would use when their servant failed to fulfill their mission. After its minion brought the Gonks to Gonkatine, Gonkatine expressed his disappointment of not being able to use his speech and planned the Knights' first strike: cleaning up the Sith Citadel of Exegol. However, they soon realized that was not a bad action, which confused Gonkatine, almost melting him.^[2]

Personality and traits[]

Gonkatine was a pessimist red GNK power droid, he believed his minion would fail on their task, to be quickly disappointed at the chance of using a disappointment speech being lost, which disappointed Gonkatine even more. Although Gonkatine originally planned his organization to be "evil," his plans quickly made him realize that really, it was an organization of "good," which confused Gonkatine and almost melt him.^[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Gonkatine appeared in the 2022 video game LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Warner Bros..^[2]

In the game, the player—the droid's minion—may choose to help Gonkatine in his quest to form the Knights of Gonk, if the player is successful in completing Gonkatine's mission, the player gains a kyber brick and the ability to play as Gonkatine.^[2]
