Girard was a human who served the New Republic Defense Fleet, holding the rank of captain and serving as the commanding officer of the cruiser Dawnbringer. Captain Girard led three New Republic cruisers, including the Dawnbringer, to Seatos on orders from Fleet Command to intervene in General Hera Syndulla's unauthorized mission to Seatos.[1]
