A fuse box was a component used in speeder bikes. On[1] the Outer Rim[2] planet Valo[1] in 231 BBY,[3] Jedi Padawan Ram Jomaram used the Force to levitate several speeder parts around him—including a fuse box—while repairing a speeder bike in a repair garage. As he mentally accounted for the parts around him, he reflected that one of the objects was a fuse box, which would fit alongside the bike's retrovaporizer and connect to the rest of its machinery.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
A fuse box first appeared in Race to Crashpoint Tower, a junior novel written by Daniel José Older as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase I that was published on June 29, 2021.[4] Prior to its release, the component's mention was included in a preview for the work printed in the junior novel A Test of Courage,[5] published on January 5 of the same year.[4] In the real world, fuse boxes are metal boxes that contain fuses, an electrical safety device that shuts off when a fuse is powered beyond it's limit.[6]
