The result of the debate was Support proposal. Imperators II(Talk) 12:57, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
NOTE: This CT is effectively a revamp of an old proposal that did not pass in 2021 due to insufficient voter participation. I am of the opinion that these proposed changes are helpful and should be revisited.

Proposal 1: Naming policy changes[]
Currently, in the naming policy, original manga (like volumes in The Edge of Balance) are treated the same as trade paperbacks compiling comic issues. Original manga are effectively graphic novels and do not fit under the umbrella of a trade paperback compilation. They should instead be treated like novels or individual comic issues by removing the Star Wars prefix in their titles. This would NOT apply to manga trade paperbacks collecting individual issues that were published online (EX: Star Wars Leia, Princess of Alderaan, Vol. 1). This would be for the likes of The Edge of Balance and Guardians of the Whills: The Manga (which already follows this proposed convention).
In short, the proposal is as follows:
Rewording the "Individual comic issues" section from this:
- Do not include the "Star Wars" prefix in the article titles of individual comic book issues or stories.
To this:
- Do not include the "Star Wars" prefix in the article titles of individual comic book issues, stories, or original manga volumes.
As well as adding these bullet points to the list of exceptions:
- Manga:
- Manga volumes with "Star Wars"-specific titles (example: Star Wars Manga: A New Hope 1)
- Anthology manga volumes (example: Star Wars Manga: Black)
- Volumes of manga adaptations of another work, such as a webcomic (example: Star Wars Leia, Princess of Alderaan, Vol. 1)
Proposal 2: Layout Guide changes[]
Furthermore, a secondary proposal to the Layout Guide's section on Appearances is recommended. We already do this in practice, but it would be good to codify it for clarity's sake.
Below the bullet on comic book issues, add the following:
- Webcomics or manga released online in short individual chapters do not have articles for individual issues and should be listed by the overall series instead of any trade paperbacks collecting the issues.

- In proposal 2: "Webcomics or manga released online in short individual chapters and do not have articles for individual issues should be listed...": Is this intended to say "Webcomics or manga released online in short individual chapters that do not have articles for individual issues should be listed..." or "Webcomics or manga released online in short individual chapters do not have articles for individual issues and should be listed..."? That is, is it confining itself to online comics that don't have individual articles, or mandating that such comics not be given individual articles? The current ungrammatical formulation seems to lean more closely to the former, but its wording should be corrected either way. Asithol (talk) 03:18, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
