Fengrine was a Mid Rim agriworld situated in the Senex sector. A prestigious agricultural center that was the most powerful of the agricultural worlds of the Senex-Juvex region, by the time near the end of the Galactic Republic it had also become one of the largest exporters of foodstuffs in the galaxy.

Description[]

Fengrine was an agriworld located in the Fengrine system of the Senex sector, a part of the Senex-Juvex region in the Western Reaches portion of the Mid Rim. It was linked by the Senex Trace hyperlane to the Karfeddion and Neelanon systems. Fengrine featured endless fields,[1] with its surface being entirely devoted to agriculture.[2] From space, Fengrine appeared like a large, luminous emerald.[1]

History[]

Fengrine was the most powerful agriworld of the Senex-Juvex,[1] and, by the time near the end of the existence of the Galactic Republic,[2] which was transformed into the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY,[1] it was also one of the largest exporters of foodstuffs in the wider galaxy.[2] Fengrine sometimes provided a significant portion of the food for the Ado sector planet Ord Gimmel.[3]

Inhabitants[]

Fengrine had a relatively low population, numbering between a few million and half a trillion.[4] Both scientists and agridroids worked in its fields, and it housed research institutes and agricultural colleges. Fengrine's proud geneticists enjoyed contacts with researchers and students from the rest of the galaxy.[1] Fengrine held prestige as an agriworld, and it contributed to a common image of armchair farming in hydroponic shells that was related to such worlds—an image that was very unlike the harsh reality of moisture farming on the Outer Rim Territories' desert world Tatooine.[5] Like the other worlds in the Senex-Juvex, Fengrine was under the control of the aristocratic Ancient Houses that ruled there.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Fengrine was first mentioned in the 2002 reference book Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Incredible Cross-Sections by Curtis Saxton.[6] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed it in grid square L-18.[1]
