The Equatorial trench was the wide trench than ran around the equator of the Galactic Empire's first and second Death Stars, separating their northern and southern hemispheres.[1][2] It contained the battle stations' ion drive arrays and docking bays, and the other trenches ran parallel to it.[3]
Legacy[]
Main article: The planet Ilum under the rule of the Empire,[4] and later the First Order,[5] also had a similarly surrounding equatorial trench, yet one of a larger size.[6]
