Two individuals were the parents of the Force-sensitive human male Elzar Mann. Because their son was Force-sensitive, they sent him to be trained as a Jedi at the Jedi Temple on[1] the Core Worlds planet[2] Coruscant.[1] By 228 BBY,[3] Mann had risen to the rank of Jedi Master.[1] That year,[3] after fellow Jedi Master Avar Kriss told Mann that she loved him, he sought the advice of Jedi Grand Master Yoda of whether it was possible for Jedi to love an individual while being free of attachment. In response, Yoda asked Mann if he thought his parents loved him less because they had sent him to the Temple, to which Mann stated that they did not. When the Grand Master pressed for why, Mann stated that his parents had loved him, and that they had let him pass through their lives through their love for him. He then noted that even if they had wanted to hold onto him, they had not.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
