"Rogue Seven, all green."
―Dakorse Teep[2]

Dakorse Teep was a male teenager living during the Yuuzhan Vong War who served as a starfighter pilot for Rogue Squadron in 27 ABY. After the New Republic retook the planet Borleias from the Yuuzhan Vong—a species of intergalactic invaders—Teep and Rogue Squadron were stationed in the Republic garrison on the planet.

During one of the many attempts by the Yuuzhan Vong to wrest control of Borleias back from the Republic, Teep and the Rogues were ordered to attack one of the Yuuzhan Vong's cruiser analogs. Assigned to Jedi Master Corran Horn's flight, Teep lagged behind as the Rogues left the protection of the Republic base's shields, leaving him vulnerable. Teep narrowly avoided the Yuuzhan Vong cruiser's plasma fire, which went on to hit the base's shields, resulting in a concussion that sent the members of Teep's flight into an out-of-control spin. The other members of the flight regained control of their fighters in time; however, Teep was unable to, and his fighter crashed into the jungle below, exploding in a fireball.

Biography[]

"Seven, break to port—"
―Corran Horn, calling to Dakorse Teep moments before Teep's death[2]

A male pilot, Dakorse Teep was a teenager during the New Republic's war with a species of intergalactic invaders, the Yuuzhan Vong,[2] which began in 25 ABY. Two years into the war,[1] Teep served in the Republic's elite X-wing starfighter squadron, Rogue Squadron, flying as Rogue Seven. High attrition levels during the war forced Rogue Squadron to accept members who lacked experience, allowing Teep and others to gain a place in the renowned squadron, where in better times, they may not have qualified.[2]

After the New Republic retook the planet Borleias from a Yuuzhan Vong occupation force in the aftermath of the fall of Coruscant to the invaders, Teep and Rogue Squadron were stationed in the Republic garrison on the planet, under the overall command of General Wedge Antilles. The Yuuzhan Vong had launched a campaign to wrest control of Borleias back from the Republic, and after many skirmishes, Antilles was forced to withdraw his forces until they were concentrated in a tight perimeter around the old Alderaanian Biotics facility on the planet, which was slowly being surrounded by Yuuzhan Vong ground troops.[2]

When the Yuuzhan Vong launched an aerial raid on the biotics facility, Teep and Rogue Squadron were called into action. The Rogues, now reduced to just nine members, were organized into three shield trios—groups of three starfighters that, while flying in close formation, would extend the radius of their deflector shields and inertial compensators to provide overlapping coverage of the three-ship formation—with Teep assigned to Jedi Master Corran Horn's trio along with the Sullustan Leth Liav. The squadron was to attack one of the Yuuzhan Vong cruiser analogs that were bombarding the Republic base with plasma cannons.[2]

As the Rogues rose to leave the protection of the base's shields, Teep lagged behind, offering his shield-mates no protection from his shields and leaving himself vulnerable. The cruiser analog the Rogues were meant to be attacking launched a plasma barrage on the biotics facility that angled toward Teep's starfighter. Horn, aware of the danger, ordered Teep to evade, and the main ball of plasma passed Teep harmlessly. However, when the plasma ball hit the facility's shields, the resulting concussion hammered Teep, Horn, and Liav, sending their fighters into spins. Horn regained control of his fighter first, and watched as Teep and Liav rolled as they fell, out of control, toward the jungle below. Liav managed to come out of her roll not far above the treetops; however, Teep could not regain control of his fighter in time, and the teenager's fighter punched through the treetops, exploding in a fireball. Dismayed at the loss of another child to the war, Horn led Liav as they continued the battle against the Yuuzhan Vong.[2]

Personality and traits[]

"Close it up, Seven."
"Sorry, Nine. Coming."
―Corran Horn and Dakorse Teep[2]

An inexperienced pilot, Dakorse Teep was only a teenager when he was given a position in the famed Rogue Squadron due to the high level of attrition during the Yuuzhan Vong War. Corran Horn thought Teep should have been playing with Horn's son, only a few years Teep's junior, rather than flying a starfighter in the war. When the Rogues were ordered to attack a Yuuzhan Vong cruiser analog in defense of the New Republic base, Teep lagged behind as his fellow pilots rose above the base's shields, leaving himself vulnerable and the members of his flight without protection from his shields. After plasma fire from the Yuuzhan Vong cruiser sent Teep, Liav, and Horn spinning out of control, Teep was the only one unable to regain control of his fighter in time, leading to his death.[2]

Behind the scenes[]
