Coromont Vizzle: "♪ …the law is always on his back-ack-ack-ack!"
Sav Malagán: "Is Coromont singing one of the ballads about himself?!"
Coromont Vizzle: "♪ …But big Coromont always on the attack-ack-ack-ack!"
Maz Kanata: "Of course he is! He wrote most of them."
―Vizzle sings his own ballad aboard the Venomed Scabbard[3]

Coromont Vizzle was an alien criminal and associate of pirate queen Maz Kanata during the High Republic Era. A famed outlaw, Vizzle's name was echoed throughout the galaxy in songs, many of which he penned himself. The rotund pirate formed an uneasy relationship with Officer Rado, a diminutive lawman who rode on Vizzle's back wherever he went; assigned to watch the criminal at all times and monitor for illegal activity, Rado never reported his findings for fear of being implicated himself. Around the year 382 BBY, Vizzle stood by Kanata's side during a turf war with the Dank Graks, traveling with her crew to uncover their rivals' motives.

Biography[]

Coromont Vizzle was an alien pirate who came to prominence during the High Republic Era, renowned both for his acts as well as for the number of times he had been arrested.[1] After one particular encounter with the law, the court ruled that Vizzle would henceforth be attended to at all times by Officer Rado, a very small individual who would report on any crimes Vizzle might commit in the future. However, as simply being present for any such acts would incriminate Rado himself, the officer never filed his citations, opting instead to pester Vizzle any time he witnessed illegal actions. Rado kept up with him by residing in a compartment attached to the back of the much larger alien's armor. Vizzle paid the officer little mind, going about his business as normal and enjoying his life as a pirate. He made a point of promoting his reputation with songs he wrote himself, ballads that told the tales of his escapades throughout the galaxy.[3]

Vizzle eventually came to work with Takodana's pirate queen Maz Kanata and her crew.[1] Around the year 382 BBY,[4] he was present at Takodana Castle when a brawl broke out between the cyborg Alak and Inspector Raf Thatchburn, a member of the Galactic Antipiracy Command and Alak's former lover. Vizzle and fellow pirate Therm Scissorpunch rushed to aid Alak, but the fight was quickly ended by Kanata, who sent the inspector out. Later, Vizzle was present when Kanata learned that the rival Dank Graks were planning a turf war to take Takodana and agreed to assist her in stopping them.[1] He embarked with the crew on Kanata's Venomed Scabbard and boarded the Graks' ship, the Grim Devourer, to discover their motives. While exploring the empty ship, Vizzle informed the crew's newest member, Sav Malagán, of Alak's history with Tatchburn as well as his own with Officer Rado.[3]

Their discussion was cut short when the Devourer was attacked by the Scabbard, having been commandeered by the Dank Graks. Kanata ordered Vizzle to take Malagán and man the ship's weapons, but he found himself unable to do so, as the Devourer utilized Tund technology and was therefore only operable by Force-sensitive beings. Another blast from the Graks briefly rendered Vizzle and Rado unconscious, leaving them unable to witness Malagán, an undercover Jedi Padawan, take control of the ship's cannons. The battle came to a stalemate when Inspector Thatchburn arrived and threatened both parties with arrest. Kanata and her crew escaped, planning to catch back up with the Graks to take back their the Scabbard and rescue its pilot, Abadoo.[3]
