Conscription trooper pilots[6] were conscripted soldiers that served as pilots for the Galactic Empire during the early Imperial Era.[1] They acted as a precursor to the Imperial Starfighter Pilots that were later used by the Empire.[6]

Equipment[]

Conscription trooper pilots wore TK stormtrooper armor that was outfitted with life support gear and air-supply hoses that connected to the filtration system of their helmets.[1]

History[]

Around 18 BBY,[5] a conscription trooper pilot flew a Nu-class attack/transport shuttle designated Shuttle 135 on the planet of Wayland to deliver a squad of TK stormtroopers to the Tantiss Base on Mount Tantiss. While on final approach to the Imperial installation, the shuttle was struck by lighting from a nearby storm, causing its systems to become unresponsive. The pilot managed to crash-land the shuttle in the jungle surrounding Tantiss, and released its ramp to allow his passengers to get out before climbing out of the cockpit. One of the stormtroopers attempted to call for backup on his comlink, but the Imperials were subsequently attacked by a dryax, resulting in the deaths of the pilot and his stormtrooper passengers.[1]

Several months later, several conscription trooper pilots were deployed in V-wing starfighters and ordered by Doctor Royce Hemlock to shoot down the rogue clones Omega and Crosshair, who were escaping Mount Tantiss in a hijacked Rho-class transport shuttle. After being informed that the clone Omega's blood was vital to a clandestine Imperial project, Hemlock ordered for the pilots to break off their pursuit.[7]

  5. 5.0 5.1 Per the reasoning here, Season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch takes place around 18 BBY. The tally marks made by Omega in The Bad Batch Season 3's first episode, "Confined," indicate the episode must take place at least 21 standard days following her capture, as depicted in the Season 2 episode "Plan 99." According to StarWars "Confined" Trivia Guide | Star Wars The Bad Batch on StarWars.com (backup link), Omega then spends about one hundred and sixty-four further days in captivity by the end of "Confined." As such, the events of Season 3 must begin around 18 BBY and carry on from there.
