"He had a splendid voice. Could sing like the sweetest of Celestials."
―Lando Calrissian, on Naaruu[1]

Celestials were a group known for their singing. During a job on Kullgroon, in 10 BBY[2] Lando Calrissian compared the singing voice of Naaruu, a individual who threatened Lando, who Lando subsequently killed and took his hide as a cape, to the sweetest of Celestials.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Celestials where introduced into canon with a mention in the 2018[3] comic Lando - Double or Nothing 2,[1] written by Rodney Barnes[4] and pencilled by Paolo Villanelli.[5] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Celestials where first mentioned, albeit unnamed in the 1983 novel Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu, written by L. Neil Smith.[6] The Celestials were first named by Troy Denning in his 2005 novel Dark Nest I: The Joiner King.[7] The Celestials made their first appearance in Overlords,[8] a 2011 episode of Season Three of the TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.[9] In the Legends continuity, the Celestials were the same as the Force wielders of Mortis,[10] however, no canonical connection has been made.
