Braces[2] were a type of small device implemented by individuals on their teeth.[1] In 32 BBY,[3] the human female Amee was the only youngling among her peers on the desert planet Tatooine who wore braces.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Braces first appeared in the 1999 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.[1] In the current Star Wars canon, the device was identified in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: Geektionary: The Galaxy from A - Z.[2] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the implement was not canonically identified but was given the name "braces" in a non-canonical graphic novel of that continuity, Jedi Academy: The Phantom Bully, which was written by Jeffrey Brown and published in 2015.[4]
