Bo-Katan Kryze's unit[5] was a team of Mandalorians under the command of Lady Bo-Katan Kryze,[1] the former Mand'alor. Kryze and her followers fought against Gideon's Imperial remnant and hunted for the Darksaber with the intention to one day retake the planet Mandalore.[2]
History[]
In 9 ABY,[6] Kryze and her unit were hijacking weapons shipments from the Black market port on Trask to Moff Gideon's Imperial remnant. During this time, Kryze, Koska Reeves, and Axe Woves rescued Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his foundling, Grogu from Quarren fishermen. At first, Djarin refused to acknowledge Kryze and her unit as fellow Mandalorians. After destroying the Quarrens' boat, Kryze and her unit save Djarin and from the surviving Quarren.[1]
Kryze told Djarin about how Gideon's remnant were using the plunder they seized from Mandalore during the Great Purge to buy weapons. She tells him that she and her unit were hijacking the shipments in order to reclaim Mandalore, despite Djarin's belief that the planet was cursed. Kryze assured him that was not true, knowing that their enemies wanted to divide the surviving Mandalorians more. Kryze asked Djarin to help her to continue her hijacking missions. At first, djarin refused stating that he was trying to find a Jedi to take in Grogu. Kryze, remembering Ahsoka Tano from the Clone Wars,[7] told Djarin where he could find one in exchange for his help.[1]
After showing Djarin their target, an Imperial Gozanti-class cruiser, Djarin, Kryze, Reeves, and Woves flew in. Together, they were able to take out the stormtroopers. During the hijacking, the cruiser's captain contacted Gideon and told him of his situation. He was ordered the scuttle the cruiser. However, Kryze and her unit were able to take control of the cruiser. Having captured the caption, Kryze demanded to know if Gideon still had the Darksaber. The caption confirmed that he did before killing himself with a suicide shocker. For completing the mission, Kryze told Djarin to go the city of Calodan on Corvus to find Ahsoka Tano. Kryze and her unit left Trask and Djarin returned to the Razor Crest.[1]
Woves later left Kryze and Reeves on Lafete. At the port, they were approached by Djarin and Boba Fett. At first, Reeves fought Fett until Kryze broke it up. Djarin was able to convince her and Reeves to help them in rescuing Grogu from Gideon. In exchange, she could claim both Gideon's light cruiser and the Darksaber. With help from New Republic Marshal Carasynthia Dune and assassin Fennec Shand, Kryze and her unit were able to take control of Gideon's ship. However, she was unable to reclaim the Darksaber due to Djarin disarming and capturing Gideon. Kryze and her allies then received help from Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, who finished off Gideon's Dark Troopers.[2]
