- "Freighter One Seventeen, this is port control. State your business."
"Submitting our permits now."
"We read you, Freighter. Bay thirty-one is yours." - ―The port control worker and Sabé
Bay thirty-one was a docking bay operated by the port control of the Mos Eisley spaceport on the planet Tatooine during the Clone Wars.[1] In 22 BBY,[2] the Naboo Sabé and Tonra traveled to Tatooine aboard Freighter One Seventeen, a vessel they had acquired. As their freighter approached the world, a port control worker took Sabé and Tonra's permits and told them to land at bay thirty-one. After preparing their ship for descent, the pair disembarked at the docking bay.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Bay thirty-one first appeared in the current Star Wars canon in Queen's Hope,[1] a 2022 young-adult novel written by E. K. Johnston.[3] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the bay was first introduced in "A Bith Saved Is A Bith Learned," an adventure included in the West End Games source book Galaxy Guide 7: Mos Eisley, written by Martin Wixted[4] and published January–February 1993.[5]
