"The Overseer saw some action at Pothor and Jeyell, but it's had a complete inspection and overhaul for this mission."
―Willard Waylin[1]

A battle was fought[3] during or prior to 4 ABY,[2] at the[3] Mid Rim Territories planet[4] Pothor where the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Overseer saw action and won distinction for the battle.[3] In 4 ABY,[5] while preparing for a mission to the planet Hosnian Prime, Imperial mechanic Willard Waylin mentioned that the Overseer saw action at Pothor and at[1] the planet[4] Jeyell.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The battle of Pothor was first mentioned in the StarWars.com Databank entry for the Overseer,[3] released on October 2, 2020.[6]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 Star Wars: Squadrons
  2. 2.0 2.1 Star Wars: Squadrons establishes that the mission to Hosnian Prime takes place between the Battle of Endor, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 4 ABY, and the battle of Galitan, which DK-Logo Star Wars Battles That Changed the Galaxy on Dorling Kindersley's official website (backup link) states took place twenty-three years after the formation of the Galactic Empire, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 19 BBY, placing it also in 4 ABY. Therefore, the mission to Hosnian Prime must take place in 4 ABY. As the battle of Pothor is mentioned shortly before the mission to Hosnian Prime, it must have taken place during or prior to 4 ABY.
