A bantha cheese hoagie was a type of sandwich sold in Mos Eisley spaceport on the desert planet Tatooine. One of its primary ingredients was bantha cheese. In 0 BBY, the Imperial stormtrooper Buford bought a bantha cheese hoagie to eat, though he accidentally lost it to his commanding officer. He later reunited with the lost sandwich and ate it.

A bantha cheese hoagie was a long sandwich filled with a variety of ingredients, including green vegetables and bantha cheese held between two slices of bread. It was edible by humans.[1]

In 0 BBY,[2] a bantha cheese hoagie was purchased by the Imperial stormtrooper Buford while he was on a mission to buy[1] the Dark Lord of the Sith[3] Darth Vader a new pair of socks with fellow troopers Baljeet and Candace at Mos Eisley spaceport on the desert[1] planet[3] Tatooine. The sandwich was kept in a paper bag and later accidentally given to Candace's commanding officer.[1]
Darth Vader Force chokes a commanding officer for handing him a sandwich instead of the socks he ordered.
Not long after, the commanding officer presented the paper bag to Vader aboard the Empire's Death Star, thinking it was a pair of socks. Disappointing the Sith with his failure, the officer was choked to death by Vader, and the sandwich was thrown away and ended up in[1] garbage masher 3263827.[3] Soon after, the Imperial scientist Heinz Darthenshmirtz went into the garbage compactor and asked the dianoga[1] Omi[4] to give him objects that Vader interacted with in the hopes of absorbing Dark Force from them, including the bantha cheese hoagie. Darthenshmirtz later dropped the sandwich due to his altercation with the Platypus Perry, a Rebel Alliance agent.[1]
Eventually, Buford reunited with his sandwich when he found it on the floor aboard the Death Star and promptly ate it, even though it was wet due to previously going through the dirty waters of the garbage compactor. He later quickly regretted his decision when he tried to flee from the battle station, rubbing his belly.[1]
