Bad Protocol was a Haxion Brood Bounty Droid that served the Haxion Brood crime syndicate during the Imperial Era. Once a loadlifter droid, the Haxion Brood reprogrammed the droid, who was enhanced with salvaged parts. They had yellow and silver plating, white sensors, and a built-in wrist blaster.^[2]

In 14 BBY,^[1] Bad Protocol fought the Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis. However, the droid failed to defeat him and was destroyed by the Jedi.^[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Bad Protocol appeared in the 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, developed by Respawn Entertainment. In the game, after the player attempts to return to their ship, the Stinger Mantis, after visiting the Zeffonian Tomb of Miktrull on the planet Zeffo, the player may be attacked and captured by any of the Haxion Brood bounty hunters, including Bad Protocol. After Kestis wakes up in a cell on the Haxion Brood homebase of Ordo Eris, if the hunter to capture him was Bad Protocol, he will fight and destroy the droid within the Haxion Fight Pit.^[2]

However, if Bad Protocol is not the bounty hunter to capture Kestis, the player may encounter the droid in a variety of locations after the Ordo Eris chapter of the story. The player may choose to destroy the droid and scan it for the "Haxion Brood Bounty Droid" tactical guide entry if not already previously obtained.^[2]
