BB-8 and the Snow Monster was a planned young readers book by Caitlin Kennedy with illustrations by Brian Kesinger. Slated to be the third entry in the Droid Tales series, the book was canceled by Disney–Lucasfilm Press after several release date delays. The title would have featured the droids BB-8, C-3PO, and R2-D2 on the planet Hoth.
Publisher's summary[]
C-3PO is none to [sic] happy when the Resistance must return to the old Rebel base on Hoth, but R2-D2 is nostalgic from their old adventures there and BB-8 is just excited to play in the snow. However, when the little round droid encounters an angry wampa, he'll have to use all of his programming to trick his way out from under the snow beast![1]

- ↑ 2.0 2.1 Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary states that R2-D2 went into lower power mode five years before the Starkiller Incident, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 34 ABY. After being awakened, R2-D2 immediately joined Rey and Chewbacca on their journey to Ahch-To, as seen in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. Therefore, the events of BB-8 and the Snow Monster must have occurred after the events of Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, which also occurred in 34 ABY since the film's events take place immediately after The Force Awakens.
