"Must have been thrown in for free when I bought the lot."
―Kragan Gorr upon discovering B1 with his shipment of droids[4]

"B1" was the nickname[7] of a B1-series battle droid that was sold by Sidon Ithano to Kragan Gorr and the Warbird gang. After Gorr planned to mutiny against Captain Imanuel Doza, Neeku Vozo grew suspicious and secretly reprogrammed B1 to be loyal to him and to be the commander of the B2-series super battle droids. B1 played a crucial role in defeating Kragan and the Warbirds' mutiny against Captain Doza. However, he was destroyed soon after, haplessly falling victim to the attack of an Aeosian warrior.

Biography[]

Thwarting the mutiny[]

"B1, if you please."
"Here goes nothing. [clears throat] Super battle droids, stand down!"
―B1 orders the super battle droids to stand down[4]

B1 was a B1-series battle droid owned by the Delphidian pirate Sidon Ithano until he was sold to another pirate Kragan Gorr, the leader of the Warbird gang. Gorr wanted to use the droids to overthrow Captain Imanuel Doza, the ruler of the Colossus refueling platform. B1 remained hidden in the transport containers full of B2-series super battle droids, which needed repairs. B1 was relieved that he was finally free from the cramped container and remarked that he needed a deep core adjustment.[4]

When the pirate Skreek knocked him on the head, the Nikto mechanic Neeku Vozo, who was tasked with fixing the battle droids, told the pirate to be gentle with them. Kragan remarked that they must have gotten B1 free with the other droids. While Neeku was repairing the B2 battle droids, he befriended B1 and enlisted his helped in repairing the B2s.[4]

Vozo, who has been told by Captain Doza and Jarek Yeager to spy on Gorr, knew something wasn't right, secretly programmed B1 to be the commander of the B2 battle droids. Though Vozo did not manage to repair B1's circuits and servomotors, B1 later managed to free Neeku and his friends Synara San and Kazuda Xiono from their cell.[4]

In the meantime, Gorr and his Warbirds instigated a mutiny on the Colossus, using B2 battle droids. Though the pirates and their droids managed to subdue the station and capture Captain Doza, Yeager, and his security droid 4D-M1N, Xiono, San, Vozo, and B1 made it to the location of Gorr and his mutineers. There, B1 took the command of the B2 super battle droids and ordered them to stand down and capture all the remaining pirates. The Warbirds with the exception of Synara were then banished from the Colossus on pain of death.[4]

First contact[]

"Intruders are not allowed! State your business here."
[hissing]
"B1, do not get too close to them. They might—"
―B1, an Aeosian warrior, and Neeku Vozo just before B1 is destroyed[2]

After the Colossus arrived on the planet Aeos Prime, three Aeosian warriors landed on the top deck of the refueling platform. Believing the Colossus to be the same First Order Star Destroyer that had attacked their village, the Aeosians attacked Vozo, Hype Fazon, Yeager, and Torra Doza. B1 and four of his super battle droids confronted the intruders.[2]

Before Vozo could warn them to stand down, B1 was impaled by the lead Aeosian, resulting in a skirmish. The skirmish ended after Xiono managed to convince the Aeosian Queen that they were not hostile. The Queen allowed the offworlders to settle on her world,[2] but they were forced to flee after the First Order caught up with the Colossus.[8]

Characteristics[]

"Hey, be careful! You will damage the B1. He is quite a find."
"Roger, I have delicate circuits."
―Neeku Vozo and B1 telling off Skreek for hitting B1 on the head[4]

B1 was a B1 battle droid were modified by Neeku Vozo to serve as the commander of the B2 battle droids. Due to the modifications to his systems, B1 became a more loyal and commanding droid than the typical battle droid. While he was a military droid, Neeku was able to teach him how to handle tools and repair droids. He also could speak Galactic Basic Standard.[4] B1 was loyal to his master Neeku, giving him the nickname "Commander" and was dedicated to protecting the Colossus.[8]
