The Atravis system was a part of the Outer Rim Territories' Atravis sector. Situated on the Hydian Way super-hyperroute, the star system was located in the territory controlled by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, the Atravis system suffered extensive civilian casualties.
Description[]
The Atravis system was located in the Atravis sector,[1] within the Western Reaches portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It was connected to the Shumavar and Tosste systems by the Hydian Way super-hyperroute, specifically the section which was charted by the hyperspace scouts Freia Kallea and Banu Hydia in 3694 BBY.[2]

The Atravis system was located on a section of the Hydian Way hyperlane charted in 3694 BBY.
The area of space surrounding the Atravis system was explored between 5000 BBY and 3000 BBY.[2] In 22 BBY, during the first campaigns of the Clone Wars, the Atravis system fell within the borders of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and the Eighteenth Sector Army of the Galactic Republic was charged with engaging the military forces of the Confederacy in the system's vicinity.[3] Shortly after the acquisition of the planet Ukio by the Commerce Guild during that conflict, the Atravis system was featured on a galactic map displayed on a viewscreen at a facility run by Passel Argente, the Magistrate[4] of the Corporate Alliance.[5]
The Atravis system suffered extensive civilian casualties during the reign of the Galactic Empire. Its population around 25 ABY numbered between one billion and ten billion.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The Atravis system was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square L-19.[2] The Clone Wars: Act on Instinct, a webcomic authored by Pablo Hidalgo and released on StarWars.com[4] over the span of the 2009[6]–2010[7] second season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series,[6] featured the first appearance of the system.[4]
