Aro was a Rodian who worked for the Devaronian criminal Coir Cion on the moon of Dawk during the Republic Era.^[2] Between around 40 BBY and 32 BBY,^[1] when the Sith apprentice Darth Maul arrived on the moon to kill Cion, Aro led a group to confront him. Maul defeated the other forces, and Aro surrendered, offering to lead Maul to Cion. However, learning that Cion had ordered Aro to bring him the intruder's head, Maul instead cut off the Rodian's head and delivered it to the Devaronian in the Korts Cantina before killing Cion and his associates.^[2]
