Anantapar was a tropical Outer Rim Territories waterworld located in the Yarith sector. Situated on the Corellian Trade Spine hyperlane, it had a primitive ecosystem that was based around shellfish and featured relatively small creatures.

Description[]

Anantapar was a rarely visited waterworld located in the Anantapar system, a part of the Yarith sector. It was situated in the Greater Javin region within the Western Reaches portion of the Outer Rim Territories. The world lay on the Corellian Trade Spine super-hyperroute, which connected it to the Shuxl system and the neighboring Anoat sector's Mataou system. Anantapar was located inside the Ivax Nebula.[1]

Anantapar featured a tropical climate and at least one sea. It had a primitive ecosystem that appeared to be evolving around shellfish, and the largest native marine creature was no larger than the palm of a Human.[2]

History[]

After the Galactic Republic's victory in a war against the nearby civilization of the Mugaari species[2] at some point between approximately 1000 BBY and 600 BBY,[4] the former established the Javin sector in the former Mugaari Space.[2] Around 400 BBY,[3] the portion of the sector containing Anantapar was re-designated as the Anoat sector, and generations after that, the Anoat itself was further split into two parts, with Anantapar becoming a part of the new Yarith sector.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Anantapar was introduced in Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars Roleplaying Game supplement "Galactic Gazetteer: Hoth and the Greater Javin," which was published on Wizards.com on March 25, 2004.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the world in grid square K-18.[1]

Since the supplement dates Figg's death to "nearly four centuries" prior to its setting, the establishment of the Anoat sector can be placed in approximately 400 BBY.

This establishes an approximate time frame of 1000 BBY600 BBY for the war.
