- "5387 and 5389, follow me. Call in reinforcements!"
- ―A stormtrooper gives orders to 5389
5389 was the designation of a stormtrooper who served with a remnant of the Galactic Empire led by Moff Gideon, stationed at a base on the volcanic planet Nevarro.[1] Around 9 ABY,[2] some infiltrators sabotaged the base's cooling system, which stopped the control of Nevarro's lava around the compound. 5389 and another stormtrooper, 5387, were called upon by one of their stormtrooper comrades to go with trooper. 5389 and 5387 followed suit, not realizing that the infiltrators had been watching from afar.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
5389 appeared in "Chapter 12: The Siege" of Jon Favreau's 2019 Disney+ television series The Mandalorian, directed by Carl Weathers[1] and released on November 20, 2020.[3]

SWCC 2019: 9 Things We Learned from The Mandalorian Panel on StarWars.com (backup link) establishes that The Mandalorian is set about five years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 4 ABY. Therefore, the events of "Chapter 12: The Siege," including the appearance of 5389, must have taken place around 9 ABY.
