Since Wookieepedia's Discussions forum is where a huge portion of new users turn up for its easy accessibility, it's the perfect place to remind them that the wiki is in constant need of contributions and teach them how to help.
Administrators have done essential work in building the site welcome page and included tutorials, and now there's enough for us to help guide new users on our end with some hands-on work.
We've discussed how to improve our ability to encourage editing from forum regulars on this thread in the past, and now we have the resources to launch this project as the solution.
This is Project Defender, inspired by the TIE Defender and Thrawn's affinity for perfecting even the smallest of details—or wiki articles, in our case. Come join this discussion in the Senate Hall, one of our spaces to internally discuss editing business, where I've laid out some instructions for how to help set up the project and recommend articles for it to review.
I wrote a test post a year ago, which you can use as a reference for how this project will look. @IronStain98, let me know if you want to include your editing posts in this project or keep them separate.
Once we've chosen a few articles for the forum to update, I'll post a thread here on the forum where we can coordinate our editing efforts. Follow this archive to be notified when that happens, and I look forward to working with everyone!
