I was under the impression that this was Gene's pitch for films 2-6. Why is the title only 3? - Archduk3 15:50, December 1, 2016 (UTC)

It would be nice if that question could be answered not just by explaining it here, but also by adding some more detail on the circumstances of the project to the page itself. -- Capricorn (talk) 19:11, December 1, 2016 (UTC)
The answer is that Roddenberry called it Star Trek III himself; according to Susan Sackett, he regarded TOS as the 1st iteration of Star Trek, TMP as the second iteration, and this story was to have been the third. --Defiant (talk) 22:23, December 1, 2016 (UTC)

Well, all that would be helpful on the page itself, as right now it looks like a proposal only for the third film, and lacks citation. - Archduk3 22:39, December 1, 2016 (UTC)

Absolutely. I will, as soon as I get the time. I've been meaning to do so all day. Sorry. --Defiant (talk) 23:28, December 1, 2016 (UTC)
Btw, the most plot-specific source I've found on this story is here (seems to be paraphrased from The Fifty-Year Mission: The First 25 Years, though). We should probably paraphrase (making it different from both sources), to include the plot details in this article. --Defiant (talk) 23:54, December 1, 2016 (UTC)

Is there any indication that this might have been called Star Trek: Phase III, or something short that wouldn't be confused with TSFS? I'm hoping for a better title for the nav bar, as the current title with the disambiguation is too long. - Archduk3 05:39, December 2, 2016 (UTC)

Ummm... no; I would have told you, if so. However, I haven't yet looked up what info about this plot is in Starlog magazine, and that was apparently the 1st source to report the existence of the plot. --Defiant (talk) 07:14, December 2, 2016 (UTC)
