"...that's not a ship, it's a guillotine."
William T. Riker, 2401 ("Disengage")

The Shrike was a formidable starship commanded by the Changeling Vadic. The ship was named after a small bird from Earth. (PIC: "Disengage")

History[]

Until its encounter with the USS Titan-A in 2401, little was known about the Shrike. According to Seven of Nine, there were rumors among the Fenris Rangers which noted "A ship, similar in design, flying no flag but boasting every weapon known to Starfleet and then some." (PIC: "Disengage")

After the death of Vadic and her crew, the Shrike was destroyed by the Titan with five photon torpedos. (PIC: "Surrender")

Shrike captures Eleos XII in tractor beam

The Shrike locks a tractor beam on the Eleos XII

The Shrike was heavily armed with weapons both known and unknown to Starfleet. During the ship's encounter with the Titan-A in 2401, it was armed with forty isolytic burst warheads, eighty-eight plasma torpedoes, two hundred thirty-six photon torpedoes, eighteen antimatter missiles, twenty pulse wave torpedoes, and directed energy weapons at the tips of its four forward prongs. In addition, the ship's bay was fitted with a portal weapon, based on quantum tunneling technology stolen from Daystrom Station.

Mura also noted the ship had "thirty series five…" but was interrupted by Shaw.

The ship was also equipped with a powerful tractor beam that could be reversed and utilize anti-gravitational polarity phasing to throw another spacecraft with substantial force. (PIC: "Disengage", "Seventeen Seconds")
