Jameela Alia Jamil (born 25 February 1986; age 38) is a British actress, television presenter, and activist who voiced Asencia in Star Trek: Prodigy.

Jamil commented, " The Next Generation was my first big introduction to Star Trek, and then I worked my way around to the other shows after that. Deep Space Nine? So good. Like, when did we ever see stories about Black fatherhood in these worlds? DS9 was just so ahead of the game, and I can’t wait to see if what we’re doing now on Prodigy will be as relevant in twenty years’ time." [1]

She is perhaps best known outside of the United Kingdom for her role as Tahani Al-Jamil on the sitcom The Good Place (with Jason Mantzoukas, Eugene Cordero, Marc Evan Jackson, Paul Scheer, and Adam Scott) between 2016 and 2020.

In 2019, Jamil played a supporting role in the coming-of-age comedy How to Build a Girl. In 2022, she played Mary MacPherran / Titania in the Marvel superhero series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The same year she appeared in the romantic comedy Marry Me, with Sarah Silverman.

She is also a prolific voice actress and played recurring roles in the animated series DuckTales (2019-21, with Danny Pudi, Tom Kenny, Kari Wahlgren, Stephen Root, Marc Evan Jackson, Jason Mantzoukas, Eric Bauza, Noël Wells, Bobby Moynihan, and Michael Bell), Crossing Swords (2020-21, with Tara Strong), Mira, Royal Detective (2020-22), and Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous (2020-22). She lent her voice to episodes of Seth MacFarlane's American Dad! (with Scott Grimes and Dee Bradley Baker), Harley Quinn (with Mary Holland and Phil LaMarr), Animaniacs (with Jess Harnell, Maurice LaMarche, and Kevin Michael Richardson), and Rugrats (with Fred Tatasciore and Michael McKean). She voiced Wonder Woman in the 2022 animated film DC League of Super-Pets, with Dwayne Johnson and Daveed Diggs.
