Ella Summer Purnell (born 17 September 1996; age 27) is an English actress who voiced Gwyn in Star Trek: Prodigy.

Career[]

Purnell grew up in London and studied at the Young Actors Theatre Islington and attended weekly classes at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, studying acting, singing and dancing. She made her stage debut in 2008 with a role in the musical Oliver! at London's Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

In 2010, she made her on screen debut with a supporting role in Never Let Me Go, followed by the family drama Ways to Live Forever the same year, and the horror Intruders in 2011. She made her American film debut with a smaller part in Kick-Ass 2 (2013, featuring Lindy Booth and Kevan Kase).

In 2014, she played the teenage version of the titular character in the fantasy film Maleficent and starred in Wildlike, with Bruce Greenwood. She followed with the drama The Journey is the Destination (2016), Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016), and Churchill (2017).

In 2018, Purnell appeared in Amazon Prime's Ordeal by Innocence, alongside Alice Eve and in 2020, Belgravia, again with Alice Eve. Since 2021, she co-stars in Yellowjackets. Also in 2021, she appeared in Army of the Dead with Tig Notaro.

From 2024, Purnell starred as Lucy MacLean in Fallout, likewise from Amazon Prime.

Parallel with her Prodigy role, Purnell also voices Jinx in Arcane, which also features the voices of Toks Olagundoye, Kevin Michael Richardson, Amirah Vann, Scott Menville, Kari Wahlgren, and Fred Tatasciore.
