John Noble (born 20 August 1948; age 75) is an actor who voiced Ilthuran ("The Diviner") in Star Trek: Prodigy.

He is best known for playing Denethor in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), which also featured John Rhys-Davies and Karl Urban in the cast, and scientist Walter Bishop in the series Fringe (2008-13), created by J.J. Abrams, Roberto Orci, and Alex Kurtzman. Leonard Nimoy, Orla Brady, William Sadler, Kenneth Tigar, and Monte Markham appeared in recurring guest roles on this show.

Noble also played Russian consul Anatoly Markov in the sixth season of 24 (2007) alongside Alexander Siddig and Gregory Itzin, produced and written by Manny Coto, and Morland Holmes, the father of Sherlock Holmes in fifteen episodes of Elementary between 2015 and 2019. He voiced the time demon Mallus in the superhero series Legends of Tomorrow (2017-18) with Victor Garber and Neal McDonough.

His further television recurring roles include the Australian medical drama series All Saints (1998-2004), the supernatural horror series Sleepy Hollow (2013-17), created by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, and the science fiction series Salvation (2017-18) with Brian Markinson, André Dae Kim, Karen Robinson, and Raven Dauda.

Noble also appeared in guest roles on series such as Time Trax (with Jerry Hardin, created by Harve Bennett), The Lost World (with Nick Tate), Stargate SG-1, The Good Wife, The Librarians (starring Rebecca Romijn, Lindy Booth, and John Larroquette, with Rachel Nichols), The Blacklist, The Boys (starring Karl Urban and Jack Quaid), and Cowboy Bebop (starring John Cho).
